1960年代のアメリカでは、当時高価だった綿の代わりに、おがくずを詰めた日本製のぬいぐるみが大流行していました。主に動物をモチーフとしたぬいぐるみたちは、ひとつひとつ職人の手により、今ではほとんど用いられない製法で仕上げられたハンドメイドものでした。
それから約半世紀、「play set products」によって描かれた「modern pets」を、当時の製法・技術をそのままに、現代に蘇らせました。昔ながらのおがくず詰め「made in Japan」のぬいぐるみです。
During 1960's in the U.S, sawdust stuffed-dolls made in Japan were extremely common instead of using cotton which was expensive at that time.
These stuffed dolls are mainly animal motif, each hand-made by a craftsman with a technique in which is rarely used now days.
Since then almost half a century has past, these old fashioned stuffed dolls are revised as modern pets, using exact method at that time, but the design written by play set products.
